Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Modern Pet Salon’s website, booking services, or visiting our salons, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Appointment Booking
Appointments must be booked online, via our app, or by phone. We require at least 24-hour notice for cancellations to avoid a no-show fee. You may reply “C” to our reminder text to cancel.

3. Pricing & Payment
All prices are subject to change. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, cash (5% discount), and digital payments. Late fees apply to unpaid balances over 30 days.

4. Service Guarantees
We strive for 100% satisfaction. If you’re unhappy with any grooming service, please let us know within 48 hours so we can make it right at no additional charge.

5. Health & Safety Requirements
Pets must have up-to-date rabies vaccinations. You must provide proof of vaccination and sign any required waiver forms. We reserve the right to refuse service if records are not current.

6. Liability Waivers
Owners must sign applicable waivers for senior, matted, or aggressive pets before services begin. MPS is not liable for pre-existing health conditions or stress-related incidents.

7. Intellectual Property
All website content—text, images, logos, and designs—are the property of Modern Pet Salon. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without permission.

8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Mecklenburg County.

 

9. Modifications
We may amend these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of our site and services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Disclaimers & Agreements

Service Agreement

Grooming Requirements & Pet Health

  • Pets must be fit and healthy to receive grooming services. Grooming may uncover underlying health or skin issues in elderly or infirm pets. Modern Pet Salon cannot be held responsible for complications arising from pre-existing conditions.
  • Rabies vaccination must be current (as required by law), unless previously discussed with our team.

Emergency Authorization

  • If an emergency occurs while your pet is in our care and you are unavailable, you authorize Modern Pet Salon to contact the nearest veterinarian and approve any necessary treatment at your expense, unless notified otherwise.

Payment Policy

  • Payment is due at the time of service and may be made by cash, check, credit card or venmo.
  • Returned checks incur a $35 fee.
  • Grooming fees are based on your dog’s breed and size and may fluctuate depending on the level of service required to complete the groom..

Included Services

  • Nail clipping, anal express and, ear cleaning are included unless they pose undue stress for your pet or present a safety risk for our groomers.
  • “De-matting” or full coat removal can significantly alter your pet’s appearance and may reveal existing health or skin conditions. Modern Pet Salon cannot be held liable for issues discovered during this process.

1. Cancellations

  • Modern Pet Salon follows Mecklenburg County public school closures for inclement weather. We will remain open as long as conditions are safe. If you’re unsure, please call to confirm.
  • To waive the full appointment fee, clients must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the scheduled time.
  • In extreme weather, family emergencies, or other uncontrollable circumstances, our groomer may waive the cancellation fee—even if notice is given within 24 hours.
  • Modern Pet Salon reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any appointment when necessary. We will make every effort to find a mutually convenient time for you.

2. No-Shows

  • A “no-show” occurs when a client does not arrive at the scheduled appointment time and fails to contact Modern Pet Salon in advance to cancel or reschedule.
  • No-shows may be charged the full grooming fee, as this results in lost revenue. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.
  • Clients who repeatedly no-show appointments must prepay when scheduling any future bookings.

Service Refusal
Modern Pet Salon reserves the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, healthy environment for all pets in our care.

Matted Pet Waiver

Modern Pet Salon Weddington (MPS) strives to deliver gentle, professional grooming for every pet. However, severely matted coats present unique challenges and may require extra time, specialized tools, or—if mats cannot be safely removed—a close clip or shave. This disclaimer informs owners of the risks involved in de-matting and releases MPS from certain liabilities when handling matted coats.

Applies To:
All grooming services at MPS—including bath, brush-out, de-matting, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning, and any other treatment.

Risks & Precautions:

  • Skin Irritation or Injury: Mats pulled too tightly can pinch or tear skin, especially near sensitive areas.
  • Additional Clipping/Shaving: In cases of severe matting, a full or partial shave may be necessary to protect your dog’s comfort and health.
  • Extended Groom Time: Removing mats safely often requires extra time and conditioning treatments.
  • Heat or Stress: Mats trap moisture and dirt; lengthy de-matting can increase stress or raise body temperature during grooming.

MPS will use every reasonable precaution—gentle conditioners, detangling sprays, blunt-end tools, and frequent breaks—to minimize discomfort. However, owners should understand that some level of discomfort or a shorter coat may result from de-matting severe mats.

Release of Liability:
By signing below, you acknowledge and accept that MPS is not liable for any skin irritation, minor cuts, or stress-related reactions that may occur during a de-matting service, including those stemming from pre-existing coat conditions. This waiver covers all future visits for matted-coat services at Modern Pet Salon Weddington.

Emergency Care Authorization:
If, in the rare event, emergency veterinary care becomes necessary during or immediately following grooming due to mat-related complications, MPS will attempt to contact you using the emergency information on file. If you cannot be reached, you authorize MPS to seek veterinary treatment for your dog at your expense.

Elder Pet Waiver

Modern Pet Salon Weddington (MPS) takes great pride in providing quality, compassionate care for pets of all ages. However, elderly dogs, defined as those aged 10 years and older, may have special needs or health concerns that require additional precautions during grooming. This disclaimer serves to inform owners of the inherent risks and release MPS from certain liabilities when caring for elderly pets.

This disclaimer applies to all grooming services provided by Modern Pet Salon Weddington, including full grooming, bathing, hair trimming, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and any other routine or specialized grooming services offered by MPS.

Due to the advanced age of your pet, there is an increased risk associated with grooming services. This risk is particularly relevant for dogs with health issues such as arthritis, age-related mobility challenges, and heart problems. MPS will take every reasonable precaution to provide a safe and comfortable experience; however, owners should be aware that elderly dogs may experience heightened stress levels, difficulty tolerating handling, or potential health complications that can arise during or after grooming.

By signing this form, you acknowledge and accept that MPS is not liable for any injury, stress-related incidents, or health complications that may occur during grooming, including those resulting from pre-existing conditions. This waiver is valid for the life of the elderly dog’s visits to Modern Pet Salon Weddington and will apply to all future appointments.

In the unlikely event that emergency veterinary care is necessary during or immediately following a grooming session, MPS will attempt to contact you at the emergency contact information on file. However, if you cannot be reached, you authorize MPS to seek veterinary care for your dog. Any expenses incurred for emergency care will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

Owner’s Acknowledgment and Signature

By signing, you affirm that you understand and agree to the terms of this waiver and release Modern Pet Salon Weddington from liability for any health issues arising from the grooming process due to your pet’s advanced age or pre-existing
